I went Street Fighter Crazy. (I think it was partly due to insominia). Chunli I wish I had spent a bit of time working on the pose more. But the colour job wasn't too bad for the time it took.
Unfortunetly I did a few bit of editing to Chunli proportion wise after recording. Hands too big. Arm too long etc oh well...
I had a heck of a time trying to do the editing. But it was fun to do. I was thinking of Leia in my two favorite scenes... Pose from "help me Obi-Wan, you are our only hope" and costume... well you know where :P
Prepping for the season with some Holiday Ecards. My favorite thing during this season when I was a kid (oh who am I kidding.. still am). Toys and the smell of gingerbread.
I was very grateful to get a copy of Liquid City from my friend Charlene!( like 2 weeks ago, yes I'm a bit late blogging it now). It's a amazing book. I went with Charlene and her husband Wayne to the "Speak easy comic event" it was a fun time (I'm writing this way past the event). I totally urge you to pick up this compilation. It has some amazing artists in there.
I also have my favorite page from Charlene hanging up on my wall. GO GET IT NOW!!!! Well the book... not the page that Charlene gave me (that page is MINE)
I just wanted to take to time to announce my good friend Hilary Leung is launching a book. Titled "The Legend of Cowboy Ninja Bear" Written by David Bruins and illustrated by Hilary Leung.
It's a beautiful book. And it's very exciting to see it from start to finish. I can't tell you how much quality oozes from this book. I maybe Biased... but you MUST check it out!!!! Oh and it's not just a bunch of pretty pictures.. its got a solid solid story to boot! Who says you need kids to get one of these!!!!
I've had this robot sketch sitting for years now. I've always really been fond of the design. So I thought I would ressurect it and give it the polish that I always wanted to give it.
In preparation for Halloween, my favorite time of year. I thought I would squeeze out some promo art for the festivities.
Here's the original version. And below is a alternate version (my friend Chalrene Chua, suggested that I create a retro style version of the same piece)
Well it's Thanksgiving here up in Canada. With halloween around the corner... I was thinking a bit about what could happen with some of that Turkey leftovers..... ZOMBIE TURKEYS!!!!!!!
I had a few minutes to myself yesterday morning.. thought I would squeeze this drawing out. Been a bit too busy to finish that kong drawing. I'm hoping to get that as soon as I have moment to myself
well I thought I'd do some doodling since I had some time off from work. I thought I would draw out my favorite scene from King Kong. King Kong vs TREX.
this is no where finished.. but these are just work in progress sketches right now. I'll probably come back to this and refine it some more.
Been busy with some Ad work... I managed to wrap up this evening and decided to finish off this doodle I had been messing with before. Mr Fix it Hulk and the Thing.
Sorry it's been a while since I've posted. I've been bogged down with work. I'm promising myself to try to update more again. I've been kind of hording art work the last while ... some projects I may just wait for the proper moment to post. But here's a few for now.
Here are some samples I did recently on car ads. I came up with the copy myself and worked up and illustration for some of these popular cars. I have more in the works. It's an excuse just to sit back and enjoy rendering. No need to come up with a new design out of thin air! Yes, so I'll just try to do Motorwork's design justice:)
FYI I just started a new blog with a few friends. The blog is for fun. Drawing our favorite tv shows, movies and net celebs... you can find the blog here http://leadtemple.blogspot.com/ but here's another sketch
"Where's Walace at? Where the boy Straight?"
Man I watched the first season of the Wire.. what a awesome series. D'angelo and Wallace... easily my 2 favorite characters. For this drawing I didn't exagerate this one as much as my last sketch. But I had fun drawing D'angelo
First time I saw the afro ninja video I died laughing so hard. I showed it to my buddy Ted... and we died laughing. We go back to work... and then we would snicker some more (we were watching it again at our desks). I can't count how many times I've watched this and I never get tired of laughing from it.
So Afro Ninja, if you're reading this. This is dedicated to you.
